Those words came from a press conference underway at the Bruce R. Thompson Courthouse and Federal Building in Reno. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained four dozen workers from 11 McDonalds restaurants as part of an early morning sting of the franchises, said Michael Keegan, the customs spokesman. Agents also raided the franchise corporate office. Keegan said interviews are ongoing and authorities will determine if the people will face any criminal charges. The news prompted Washoe County social services and school district officials to be on alert and help children whose parents are detained. We had a conversation with the school district today about the steps leading up to us getting involved, said Mike Capello, director of county social services. Washoe County School District spokesman Steve Mulvenon said school staff was informed. They have a plan: If a child lingers on campus after classes, a parent should be called and then a person listed as an emergency contact should be contacted. If staff fails to reach anyone after that, then they should contact county social services, Mulvenon said. So far, no calls were made. If contacted by school officials, Capello said county officials would place the child in the Kids Kottage shelter or in a foster home. They also would work the school district to find another relative or person listed as an emergency contact. Mulvenon urged parents not fear detention by ICE agents if they come to school to collect their children. We understand the fear that some parents may have about coming to pick up their children from school, Mulvenon said. But ICE was not on school grounds ... this was a work-related

I was a eployee at mcdonalds in greenville,sc an i know hat their about ten of them on dayshift tha have no papers or Id's I know this becase they have told me the reason they cant go look for other work is because they have no papers an i believe them also a store manager that us to work there before transferring told e all ofthem are illegal.I only thought it wa about three of hem becaue i talk o them on a daily basis while at work..Somthing needs to be done about this it is not right
